It’s time to celebrate our achievements as we continue to work to improve conditions for all women.  We have had a busy year with exceptional monthly speakers covering a diverse range of topics of particular interest to the business and professional women of today.

This month’s speaker is no different. Melanie Leonard, a conducter at the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, will share her inspiring story. Melanie was propelled to follow her passion for music, and was undeterred by the challenges before her.

In honour of this occasion, Kathleen Mahoney, a law professor at U of C, will speak to us about her research, practice and activism to internationally critical issues in human rights.

To solidify our unity, we will also be conducting our candlelight ceremony.

We will also be holding elections for VP, Membership; VP, Communications; and Secretary.

And don’t forget to join our various committees:

  • Program and Events: responsible for organizing the monthly dinners and guests speakers, as well as outreach activities
  • Communications: responsible for the Club’s website, newsletter, social media platforms,  any Club promotional materials, press releases and public service announcements.
  • Mentoring Committee: responsible for the Club’s Mentoring Program.
  • Resolutions Committee (effective July 1, 2010): responsible for the Club’s resolutions, and works directly with the BPW Calgary President and with BPW Canada to bring a voice to our Resolution process on behalf of our members.
