We are very excited to welcome our keynote speaker, Kenna Burima, to our April dinner meeting. As a songwriter, vocalist and keyboardist Kenna lives and breathes music. Her musical projects illustrate the diversity of her artistic process and her current solo project features an amalgamation of all that she does; classical, rock, cabaret, jazz, folk, garage, and metal.
Kenna became obsessed with playing the piano at an early age and her love of the music of dead, European men; Bach, Beethoven, Brahms and Chopin continues to the present. After high school, Kenna moved to Calgary to pursue an artist diploma in piano from the Mount Royal Conservatory and later a degree in music from the University of Calgary. Years later, she continues to split her time between learning Beethoven sonatas and transcribing Black Sabbath for piano.

We’re also pleased that Young BPW Calgary will be hosting their annual book club at the April dinner meeting. This year’s book is Daring Greatly by Dr. Brené Brown. Brown is a researcher and thought leader who offers a powerful new vision that encourages us to dare greatly, to embrace vulnerability and imperfection, to live wholeheartedly, and to courageously engage in our lives. The book will be discussed over dinner.
