Leadership Series Launch

BPW Calgary is excited to welcome our Provincial President Melanie Doornbos virtually on September 23 at 6-7 pm during Gender Equality Week. She will be sharing her experience at the BPW Canada Convention held in Regina, Saskatchewan. BPW Alberta President represented BPW Calgary at the BPW Canada Convention earlier in August. Did you know that BPW Calgary was one of the five clubs that was recognized for Membership Growth from across Canada?
Melanie Doornbos is a seasoned Human Resources leader with over 15 years of experience supporting organizations across professional services, retail, automotive, and manufacturing sectors. She is currently the HR Manager at KBH Chartered Professional Accountants. Melanie earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources Management and holds multiple professional certifications, including Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR), SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), and the Canadian Certified Talent Management Practitioner (CTMP) designation.
Melanie will share some of her own leadership lessons. Come and share a leadership lesson of your own to foster growth, hear diverse voices and make room for new leaders to emerge!

BPW Canada’s Convention will be held on August 13-16, 2026 in Regina. Members can log in to the BPW Canada website here to access the relevant documents. For login information on the national website (for BPW Calgary members), send an email to communications@bpwcalgary.com

BPW Calgary’s AGM will be held on August 15 at 11:30 am in person. This meeting is for members only. AGM documents will be forwarded to members that send in an rsvp by August 9. Please join or renew as a member here before sending an rsvp by email to communications@bpwcalgary.com

BPW North America and the Caribbean Regional Conference will be held on August 23-25, 2026 in Niagara Falls. Details can be accessed here.

BPW Calgary is delighted to present our keynote speaker The Honourable Emma R. Sarne from the Philippine Consulate General which is marking its 10th Anniversary in Calgary. Our shared goal to promote women’s economic participation through partnerships and across borders will be showcased as we gather the business community, discuss future opportunities, highlight the accomplishments of our scholarship recipients and mentorship graduates, as well as pay tribute to BPW International which welcomed BPW Philippines as a federation in 2022.

M-Power Workshop – For Registered Participants Only

The BPW Calgary M-Power Mentorship Program participants will be gathering again for a mentorship workshop on May 23rd. This will be the final workshop before graduation which is expected to be held in June when we wrap up the club year. Venue details will be emailed directly to the registered mentors and mentees.

Business Meeting – Members Only

Our annual business meeting will be held on April 8th at 6 pm at the Bow Valley Athletic Club. An official call out for nominations was issued through our club newsletter with details on the vacant board position. Deadline for nominations is March 23rd. The list of Nominations will be circulated by email to members.  We will be setting priorities and direction for the next club year. This is a members only meeting so please renew or join for 2025-2026 if you are not a member yet.
