On February 13th we will be hosting our candlelighting ceremony to pay special tribute to the International Federation of Business and Professional Women, which unites women around the world. The candles we light symbolize the ambitions and endeavours of dedicated women in every country around the world.
Consistent with our mandate “to strive to improve the economic, employment, political and social conditions for all working women,” BPW Calgary will be presenting resolutions on what we consider to be priority areas for women’s empowerment in our community. The resolutions are drafted by our local resolutions committees and then submitted to the BPW Canada for consideration and review. The national AGM delegates from each club will be voting on the resolutions and they are then submitted to the Prime Minister’s Office.
Rebecca Schulz, United Conservative Party Candidate for Calgary-Shaw, will be sharing her journey, successes and challenges as a woman in politics, and what’s at stake for women in the upcoming elections.
