Join us on May 10 as we welcome Katie Fipke, program manager for Between Friends, who will speak to us about the importance of inclusion for those with disabilities and special needs in our community.
Many people with disabilities seek social and recreational activities that are fundamental to enriching self-esteem, quality of life, and mental and physical health. Between Friends facilitates programs with these goals in mind while promoting a focus on shared interests over individual differences.
Between Friends offers children, youth and adults a variety of programs that remove the barriers of isolation and truly function as the building blocks of friendship. They encourage diversity by connecting our community with their fellow citizens with disabilities, providing ongoing development and benefitting all people through the sharing of unique talents and perspectives
