Janice Ashcroft, Senior Legal Counsel at the Alberta Human Rights Commission, will share the current legislation on Equal Pay specific to gender and highlight cases where the courts have found that women in the workforce have been paid less than their male counterparts performing the same or “substantially similar” work.
As BPW Calgary prepares to mark Equal Pay Day again this year on March 18, President Jenny Gulamani-Abdulla will summarize our 16-month journey to date to have Equal Pay Day declared nationally in Canada.
